The public is cordially invited to participate in the official ground-breaking of Boyde’s Crossing, Norfolk’s historic new environmentally-sensitive pocket community. The ceremony will be held on Wednesday, September 7th, at 11:00 a.m. at Boyde’s Crossing, 108 Main Street, Norfolk, MA 02056.
Public and business officials will assist with the ceremonial first shoveling and will speak briefly about the positive impact of this new, unique community. Light refreshments will be served.
Boyde’s Crossing is a thoughtfully designed neighborhood of sustainable homes promoting a healthy, comfortable lifestyle and a strong sense of community. Scheduled for occupancy next spring, Boyde’s Crossing is within walking distance of Norfolk center, the Town Commons, Public Library and the commuter rail station to Boston.
One of the first “Pocket Neighborhoods” to emerge in the Boston area, the concept features a community of cottage-style homes with an emphasis on environmental stewardship and greater neighbor interaction. Pocket neighborhoods have been popular on the West Coast for the past decade and the movement is gravitating to the East Coast.
The project is financed by Mechanics Cooperative Bank. For more information about Boyde’s Crossing, please contact Danielle Rochefort, 508-954-7690 (cell/text), email, danielleREsales@gmail.com.
